How to Become a Member

Full Membership

Full Member annual membership £60.00

Criteria for Full Membership:

  • Either a Fellow or Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or a Fellow, Member (IRRV Diploma) or Member (Honours) of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation

  • Be practising or employed as a rating surveyor with not less than five years' rating valuation experience since obtaining a relevant qualification

  • Proposed by 1 full member and seconded by 3 full members whose support is agreed in advance of the application (they will be automatically notified of the application)

  • An applicant cannot be proposed by a Committee Member

  • An applicant cannot be seconded by more than one Committee Member

  • An applicant cannot be proposed or seconded by a Junior or Affiliate Member

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate Member annual membership £40.00

Criteria for Affiliate Membership:

  • Either a Fellow or Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or a Fellow, Member (IRRV Diploma) or Member (Honours) of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation

  • Be practising or employed as a rating valuation surveyor

  • Proposed by 1 full member and seconded by 1 full member whose support is agreed in advance of the application (they will be automatically notified of the application)

  • An applicant cannot be proposed by a Committee Member

  • An applicant cannot be proposed or seconded by a Junior or Affiliate Member

Junior Membership

Junior Member a single one off payment of £30.00

Criteria for Junior Membership:

  • Be practising or employed as a graduate rating valuation surveyor

  • Be studying for professional qualifications (RICS/IRRV etc.)

  • Proposed by 1 full member whose support is agreed in advance of the application (they will be automatically notified of the application)

  • An applicant cannot be proposed by a Committee Member

  • An applicant cannot be proposed by a Junior or Affiliate Member

Retired Membership

Retired Member an annual payment of £10.00

Criteria for Retired Member:

  • Be either a full or affiliate member prior to retiring from employment

Life membership is also available as a one-off payment of £95.

 

N.B. Subscriptions can be offset against income tax as an allowable expense.
