We would like to thank the members who attended the members dinner held at The Lansdowne Club on 20 April.
We celebrated the inauguration of Simon Griffin as President of The Rating Surveyors’ Association. Huge thanks to Tim Johnson the outgoing President who had a very pro active year and we also announced Richard Williamson as Vice President.
We welcome four new committee members who were elected on to the committee being Krista Fieldhouse, Helen Edwards, Jane Shankland and Alex Joseph.
We also thank committee members, Myles O’Brien Honorary Mess Secretary with the arrangements for the members dinner at the Landsdowne Club; Debbie Warwick, Honorary Secretary and Tom Stratton who has been Honorary Treasurer while Sophie Oliver has been on maternity leave.
A consultation is currently running: Business Rates: transparency and disclosure of information on business rates valuations – we will be setting up a CPD to review this with members. The response date is 07 June.
The Government has also published The Non-Domestic Bill. A Bill to modernise business rates. This will be one of the biggest changes to Business Rates and we will be engaging with this Bill.
